Our group of entrepreneurs had the privilege of taking a deep dive into Crystal Clear, which is a business that specializes in pool and spa installation and maintenance. It is owned by Crystal Hemby. She explained the importance of continuing education and training so that she has the knowledge necessary to answer the questions her customers have. Confidence in her expertise builds trust, which is necessary for creating a relationship with her customers.
Crystal Hemby said "You have to be willing, in your business, to adapt and change." Due to the pool and spa business being seasonal, she decided to adapt and follow her passion, thus creating Hembeez Honey. A simple journey of elimination of sugar from her household resulted in the creation of an innovative business that provides naturally created bee related products; this includes cinnamon honey all the way to honeycomb infused sugar scrub. After trying out many of their honey options and receiving a gift of their beeswax lip balm, the young entrepreneurs understood what all the buzz is about🐝.
The CEO program aspires to introduce high school students to a hidden world of business that is within a short driving distance from their homes. This 2-in-1 business trip further drove the message home. Just like how the dandelions in the yard feed the bees, the story of how businesses in our community came to fruition feeds the entrepreneurial mindset of those in this program.
