Forget business clothes, today we rocked bunny suits! That's how our awesome tour began at Deaconess Illinois Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
To kick things off, we had a delicious breakfast and met Desiree Stumpf, the Chief Nursing Officer. She gave us the inside scoop and prepared us for the exciting tours of the surgery, radiology, and nursing areas to name a few!
Now, here's where it gets super interesting. Picture a robot helping doctors perform surgery! That's exactly what we saw with the Da Vinci Robot. It allows doctors to perform minimally invasive, quicker, and less painful procedures! And guess what? We even got to try our luck at the machine!
Moving on, we explored the Radiology and Nursing units, where we saw all the latest tech in action. Their modern computer systems and equipment keep them at the forefront of medicine. An accomplishment that doesn't come without cost. However, it was crystal clear that at Crossroads, taking care of patients is what really matters. They prioritize people's health and well-being above everything else!
