This week we had the privilege of visiting Advanced Surgical Technologies (AST) in Mt. Vernon today, hosted by business administrator, Misty Palaez.

During our tour, we learned about the wide variety of services AST offers to their patients, from general surgery and vascular care to aesthetics and primary care. As an OBL (outpatient-based facility), AST stands apart from traditional hospitals and ASCs with its patient-centric focus, providing both surgical and non-surgical treatments in a more personalized, accessible setting. Some in our group got to try out what it would be like to suit up like a provider does.

After the tour, Misty generously opened the floor to our future entrepreneurs, sharing her wealth of experience in healthcare administration. She offered invaluable advice and stressed the importance of maintaining strong ethics and morals, no matter what career path we choose. Such a powerful and inspiring visit!
