Who doesn’t love an adorable dog and a heartfelt backstory? Yesterday, the Jefferson County CEO students had the privilege of touring Jagger’s Doggie Daycare in Mt. Vernon. Owner, Randy Olson shared his story of finding a niche which the community lacked. He shared the story of Jagger, his dog who suffered from intense separation anxiety, which ultimately resulted in his passing. This heartbreaking situation sparked an idea from his wife, Connie. She recognized that the community was without a place for owners to send their dogs throughout the day. This revelation was the beginning of the businesses success.
Mr. Olson continued his story as he discussed the perseverance that occurred during the process. Because the idea was new to the area, they had to propose the pitch to the city officials. After all their hard work, their company began and flourished.
The business we saw has grown extensively since it opened in 2015. It was also clear during the visit the customers had complete confidence in their animal's well-being at Jagger’s. This shows that the initial goal to provide for the community has not faltered.
